Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay at the Cedars, my culinary experience was the highlight of my visit. The award-winning restaurant impressed with its freshly cooked Full English and hearty continental offerings, setting a delightful standard for breakfast. I recall savoring each bite while seated in the charming Conservatory, where sunlight poured in, enhancing the peaceful atmosphere. The extensive wine list provided numerous options from around the globe, allowing me to pair my lunch perfectly. I enjoyed a delightful meal from their diverse lunch options, which catered to a variety of tastes. The restaurant's ambiance was inviting, and the staff's attention to detail was commendable. The garden adjacent to the steam railway offered a wonderful setting for a light tea, with beautiful views that made for a serene escape. My room was basic but clean, and while the facilities could benefit from updates, the newly renovated bathroom was a pleasant surprise. The staff were notably accommodating, arranging early check-in and swiftly adjusting my room for future visits. With ample parking and a friendly atmosphere, I look forward to returning for a September break, eager to indulge again in the Cedars’ culinary offerings.
